One important detail: only Texas residents are eligible to be named Texas State Champion, although competitors from anywhere can participate. Eligible competitors should make sure their home state is correctly listed in their CubingUSA  profile.

If this is your first WCA competition, a new competitor tutorial runs at 8:45 AM on Saturday and check-in opens at 8:15 AM — you only need to check in on your first competing day. Arrive at least 30 minutes before each of your events.

Get Competition-Ready with GAN Speed Cubes

A competition is the perfect opportunity to put your setup to the test. Whether you're focused on improving your 3x3 average or preparing for multiple events, choosing a cube that matches your turning style can make practice more consistent.

For 3x3 and 2x2

The GAN17 MagDrive is our flagship magnetic 3x3, built around a 196-magnet Celestial Magnetic-Dynamic System and a 17.5 mm micro magnetic core. The GAN16 ui Maglev MAX pairs a similar flagship frame with full smart tracking. Together they cover both paths — pure mechanical performance, or performance plus data. You can also explore the wider GAN 3x3 lineup to find a setup that suits your preferences.
For 2x2 competitors, the GAN 2x2 collection offers options for different turning styles and preferences.

For Big Cubes and Other Events

Preparing for more than just 3x3? GAN also offers cubes across several WCA events:

The right setup is personal. Take time to practice with your chosen cube before competition day so you can focus on your solves when it counts.、

Train Smarter Before Competition Day with GAN Smart Cubes

Fast solves are built through consistent practice, but understanding your solving habits can help you improve more efficiently.

GAN smart cubes, including the GAN i4 and GAN i carry 4, connect to the CubeStation app, allowing you to review your solves and explore detailed performance data.

Instead of looking only at your final time, you can use solve analytics to identify areas that need attention, such as pauses during F2L, turning rhythm, and unnecessary regrips. Tracking these patterns over time can help you understand where you're losing time and what to work on next.

Whether you're preparing for your first competition or aiming for a new personal best, smart cubing offers another way to make your practice more focused.

Please note that smart cubes and electronic devices are subject to WCA competition regulations. Use them for training before the event, and check the latest WCA Regulations for restrictions during official attempts.
