GAN17 MagDrive is equipped with the unique Magnetic GES adjustment system, which helps a GAN cube adjust the Centre Travel and Tension by simply turning the numerical distance nut and tension nut.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set up your GAN17 MagDrive to fit your turning style:
To adjust the GES system, you will need to first open all 6 centre caps of the GAN17. This can be achieved by simply putting the cap opener tool that came with the accessory box on the centre cap and pressing down firmly.

What do the Centre Travel and Tension settings do?
The Centre Travel Setting decides how much distance the centre piece is allowed to move up and down along the core when turning. The number 1 dial represents the tightest setting, while number 6 represents the loosest. The corner cutting gets better as the number goes up, but it also means there’s a higher chance of pop and corner twists.

The Tension Setting decides how tightly the sides are being compressed to the core. The bigger the number, the tighter the cube is. A loose cube is generally much easier to turn, but it is also harder to maintain in cube shape, meaning it requires a cleaner turning style.

How do I change the Centre Piece Travel and Tension settings?
Once you have opened all six centre caps, you can easily change the settings with the GAN adjustment tool.
For the Centre Travel Adjustment, hold the GAN adjustment tool with the side with 3 lugs facing down and insert it into the matching slots on the centre travel adjustment ring.

Turn the tool clockwise to adjust the Tension. You will feel a click with every turn as the nut moves downward. The current level of Tension is indicated by a small piece of plastic extruding from the side of the centre piece.
Don’t immediately put the cap back! Do a few turns to see if you like the new handfeel! Remember, there are 72 combinations available for you to try out!
